The City serves as your base of operations, providing the necessary resources, units and other means to fuel your conquests. You can increase your power directly by either constructing and upgrading buildings, or researching new technologies. Your city comes with several building slots available, and each structure that fills the slot performs an important function in your city. Some buildings may also have additional modules available for construction within — these may grant access to new abilities or improve the perks already provided by the building. There are three types of buildings in the game:
- Production Buildings
- Special Buildings
- Unique Buildings
All buildings provide perks that you can find out by tapping on the exact Building, navigating to Upgrade, and then to Details. Most buildings can be upgraded to level 25, though some — like the Port — are an exception to this rule.
You can use an Additional Builder to speed up the growth of your city. When activated, the Additional Builder will provide a secondary construction queue, allowing you to build two constructions side-by-side.
Important: please note that activating an Additional Builder when you have one active replaces your previously activated builder. In order to extend the duration of your activated Additional Builder, please attempt to start a construction that requires more time, and extend the duration in the appropriate menu.
You can further speed up your construction speed with specific technologies, such as Civil Engineering in the University (Economy and Economy II).
Some buildings can be demolished to gain a portion of the spent resources back and to free up the building slot. Tap on a specific building, and then tap Demolish to proceed. Please note that specific buildings (like the Wall, Citadel and others) are integral to your City and cannot be demolished.
Feel free to move the buildings within your City by tapping and holding on a specific building until two icons appear on top, softly dragging it to an empty slot, and pressing the green checkmark to confirm the move. This will not spend any resources. Tapping anywhere outside the moved area or the red "X" button will cancel the move, leaving the building safely where it is.
